I think that Captured by Porches make some of the most interesting beers in Oregon. Their newest offering, a kölsch, is pretty darn tasty. Pours a nice straw color with little to no head. Taste is dry, crisp, and a bit sweet. I don't have any experience with kölsch beers, but I thought it was really nice -- pleasant, very palatable, sessionable. A few more bubbles may have added to the aroma, but I thought it was quite good as it was. This is the first CBP bottle I've seen without a bird (or some sort of bird-hybrid) on the label. There's a strange bit of text under the bottle stats: Hmm. Mysterious! I did some cursory research, and it turns out (as you'd probably suspect) to be from an Irish limerick. Here's the rest: Any guesses or insight about how this might relate to this kolsch? I'm stumped.
