I bought this bottle when I first moved to Oregon in 2008. What a delightful beer to pull out of the cellar on Christmas Eve!
Doggie Claws is a Barley Wine made in the West Coast style. Big malt and hops make this copper colored ale one of our most popular products. Produced in September and October and released in November, this beer will improve for years to come.
Pours ruby red, smells and tastes of caramel, toffee and dark fruits. Light booziness and hoppiness. Yum yum yum!!
I haven't tasted a "fresh" Doggie Claws, but this 2008 bottle was both complex and mellow at the same time. I'm not normally a huge fan of barley wines, but this was f-ing FANTASTIC.
