Tasting Notes
From the side of the bottle:
You're holding the first in a series of new bottle conditioned beers from Hopworks featuring classic European beer styles through our own Northwest perspective.
Yum.
Our Abbey Ale is a rich, complex and bready weave of malty esters reminiscent of stone fruit flavors; perfect for sharing.
Pours deep red with a soft, foamy white head. Smells bready and fruity. Taste is very soft and smooth, and is as described above; complex dark fruitiness, nicely balanced with a rich, bready malt. Super-delicious. A light boozy finish which I enjoyed, but will probably mellow out over time. To cut to the point: this beer is absolutely fantastic and ranks among the best Hopworks beers that I've tried. A++++, would (and hopefully will) drink again!
