My second Block 15 beer. I actually bought Ferme de La' Ville before I got my hands on a bottle of Figgy Pudding, so it's had a few months to sit and age. I was pretty excited to open it up and taste it after loving FP so much.
Ferme de La' Ville Provision pours a golden-straw color, with a big, cloudy head. Smells spicy. Taste is sweet, dry, and herbal a bit of tang (brett) and an underlying sour milkiness -- which was better than it sounds! A bit lemony, floral. There's a hint of oaky flavor, but I don't think I'd have noticed it if "matured in oak barrels" hadn't been written on the label.
Quite tasty! Another great beer from the folks at Block 15. I really ought to head out to Corvallis soon to visit the brewery and try some of the non-bottled taps; with great "special" releases like this, I'm curious to see what they're doing with some plain-old non-aged IPAs, stouts, and whatnot.
