Tasting Notes
It's always exciting to see a new brewery on the shelf, and Boring Brewing Co. brings my running total up to 70 different Oregon breweries. Whew! Here's the brewer's description of Big Yawn IPA, taken from the side of the bottle:
A Northwest-inspired IPA using proprietary blended hops from Hopunion called Zythos, created especially for IPAs. Generous amounts are used in both the finish and dry-hopping stages of production to give you a great hop aroma and flavor, as well as an IBU of 75.
Solid. Lightly bready base, bright grapefruit hops. Light-bodied (especially for 7.2% abv!) and easy to knock back. I really enjoyed Big Yawn. Especially considering it's the first release from a brand-new brewery, I was especially impressed with how rounded, well-balanced, and easy-drinking it was. I'm excited to check out other releases coming out of Boring over the next few months!
