Enchanted, the first (as far as I can tell) in BridgePort's "Brewer's Reserve" series, started it's life back in 2010 as
Stumptown Tart framboise, which I rather liked at the time. Here's the description from the side of the new bottle:
Don't be fooled, the story of Enchanted is no fairy tale. Transformed from a raspberry framboise, this brew's complex berry wine taste comes from aging 2 years in an oak barrel. With extra-sparkling carbonation, this flavor tale comes to life with every sip.
It's still pretty damned tasty. I apparently didn't take very good tasting notes in 2010, so I'll try to do a little better this time around...
Enchanted pours a dark reddish-pink and smells strongly of sweet, tart raspberries. Yum. Flavor mirrors the aroma, with strong notes of nice raspberry fruitiness and a touch of oakiness on the end. Dry, tart aftertaste. Again, yum!
I don't always love
fruity beers, but this one is really good, you guys.
