Loving Cup pours a deep, dark black. Roasty aroma. Taste, too, is roasty, with a bit of a coffee backbone. The maple flavor is very, very subtle... if it hadn't said "maple porter" on the bottle I probably wouldn't have recognized or noticed it. Sweet, almost cloyingly so, especially after the beer has a chance to set and warm up a bit... I continue to love the bold, graphic style of Coalition's bottle labels, Loving Cup being no exception. The beer inside this particular bottle, however, I could take or leave. :/
