Off the Wagon dunkel rye is a beer for a Northwest spring. Great for drinking in the sunshine, but just as delicious on those rainy days. A touch of malted rye gives this beer a spicy quality that intermingles with the roast and malt sweetness. This is a beer that will see you through spring and on into summer.
Another awesome label from Coalition. The beer, though... meh.
Dark-brown pour. Roasty aroma. Taste and mouthfeel are fairly light -- watery, even. Taste is roasty and very, very mildly hoppy. As much as I tried, I didn't taste any rye spice. Somewhat bitter finish.
Not a terrible beer, but certainly nothing to write home about, either.
