Cherries + Chocolate + Stout -- these things are good. They're even better together. We brew this full-flavored stout with generous amounts of roasted malt and cocoa for warm chocolate and coffee notes. Then we put the cherry on top. Literally. 15 pounds of dark sweet cherries per barrel offer a subtle fruit background for a surprisingly smooth finish.
I had this beer on tap at the brewery a few weeks ago, and it was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, this bottle that I aged in my cool, dark cellar for a whopping three months... was a drain-pour. The disgustingly sour, flat, somewhat... metallic? taste of a stout-gone-bad.
Bummer.
