Another new Oregon brewery, bringing my total up to 47. Yowza. Flat Tail Brewing opened in Corvallis, Oregon last year, and began bottling this year. The brewery space itself is a sports bar, which makes the kind-of-pretentious bottle description on this beer even stranger: Okay, on to an actual description of the beer... Hmm... that actually sounds pretty good! Unfortunately for both me and Flat Tail, it wasn't. Pours with almost no head. Thin, weak body that tastes like a mixture of squash and milk chocolate. Good subtle vanilla flavor, but the overwhelming vegetable flavors ruins it. I'd like to say "pumpkin" instead of "squash" or "vegetable", but this wasn't really the traditional pumpkin flavor that you find in other pumpkin ales and stouts. More holiday spices maybe could have rounded things out more. I couldn't taste any cinnamon at all. This was the last, and easily my least favorite of this season's round of autumn and pumpkin beers. Bleh.
