Tasting Notes
So crazy good, you might convert to lagerism.
Right from the get-go, Full Sail and I are on the same page. "Lagerism", as they say, ain't my thing. That's the point of the LTD series, I think. Not every lager is a Budweiser. Lagers can be versatile. The color of the LTD 05 sure doesn't say "lager" to me. Look at it -- rich brownish-red. Weird. A bit of light, fluffy head which dissipates quickly. It smells kind of fruity. The taste doesn't say "lager" to me, either. Bready, with a bit of caramel and a hint of hops. Really clean and crisp, including the finish. None of that stale taste that I associate with lagers. Huh. I'm not sure what to say. I liked this beer. It's solid. Legit. It has complex yet accessible and properly-balanced flavor notes. I think my friends would like it, and they're not generally a bunch of beer geeks. Am I converted to "lagerism", though? I don't know. Maybe. I'll definitely be picking it up again, before it disappears from shelves (Full sail says "March to June" on their website) to try to figure that out.
