After it's initial release in February 2009, Top Sail was aged for about 12 months in bourbon casks from Kentucky. Top Sail Bourbon Aged Imperial Porter has hints of chocolate, figs and oak. Cheers!
Pulled up from the dark basement to celebrate Valentine's Day and in preparation for our trip tomorrow to the Festival of Dark Arts out in Astoria.
This beer was pretty righteous. Smooth and chocolatey, hints of vanilla, a wonderful taste and aroma of bourbon... exactly what you'd expect from the words "Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter" -- executed flawlessly. I really, really wish I wouldn't have kicked over the glass I had sitting on the floor in front of me. Fuck.
My sweet Valentine saved the night and was kind enough to share half of her glass with me. She's the prettiest.
