A beer fit for sophisticates and flaneurs, the Royale is a golden concoction of fruity and cirtusy flavors meant for whiling away one's time in brasseries, cafes and pubs, or anywhere friends can be found.
I thought that this beer was just "okay", perhaps bordering on "pretty good", but my girlfriend absolutely
loved it. Thusly, I've been trying for weeks to get her to write this review for me, but she repeadedly refuses. Alas, you get
my review instead. As I am neither a sophisticate nor a flaneur, it would be best taken with the usual grain of salt.
The Royale pours a hazy orange color with a frothy white head. Very yeasty "Belgian-y" aroma with hints of citrus. Taste is light and very slightly fruity, with nice bubblegum-esque Belgian yeast notes. Mild boozy finish.
I'd give this beer a 3/5, but I think my girlfriend would give it a 5/5 (considering how much of it she's drank, and how excited she's been whenever a bottle was discovered in the back of the fridge), so I'm giving it a final rating of 4/5.
