Really tasty and unexpected! This is the first 'twist' I've had of the Black IPA style. Here's the bottle description:
A Cascadian dark ale, fermented with Belgian yeast, then aged in Pinot Noir wine barrels for three months. The ale and oak combine to create hints of cherry, blackberry and cocoa. This artisian ale is rich, sweet, and hoppy, with a silky smooth finish.
Yup. Smooth. Not-too-hoppy. Roasty. What really sets it apart is those rich dark fruit flavors, though. Delicious!
