If you live in Oregon and haven't tried this beer, go to the beer store (or two or three beer stores, if need be) and get your hands on one. Oregon Trail Brewery doesn't bottle any other beers, and they only brew about 50 bbl of this a year. It's pretty special and pretty fantastic.
Interesting to note that this year's porter has a bit of a lower ABV than last year's 10.3%. I don't have a way to do a side-by-side comparison, but from what I can remember (and from reading last year's tasting notes), they taste pretty similar. Still rich, smooth, roasty, and super delicious. Get you some.
