This old-style ale combines premium two row Crystal, Munich, and Melanoidin malts to create a strong, fruity aroma combined with toffee and chocolate. The powerful Hercules hops (18% alpha) alongside the ever popular Fuggle and Pearle varieties give the Drunkle a Northwest hop flair.
I've had some bad bottles from Seven Brides in the past, so I'm usually pretty reluctant to pick up one of their beers when I see it on the shelves. With Drunkle, I'm glad I took the chance!
Pours dark brown with little head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste: deep and complex, fruity and earthy with sweet caramel malts and a well-balanced bitter finish. I could taste a little bit of the 10% alcohol heat, but it fits in just fine with the flavor profile. Unexpected and delicious.
