No, not an India Brown Ale, not an American Brown Ale, an Oregon Brown Ale with all the creativity and style you'd expect from our great state.
Cheers!
A strong malt backbone sandwiched between loads of Simcoe hops may seem like a daunting idea, but dry hopping this true Oregon classic with copious amounts of Citra's really brings it home.
And there it is, the distinctly
Oregon beer quality: we eat hops for breakfast. Can't really argue with that.
Oregon Brown Ale is hoppy, no doubt. Not as heavy as a traditional brown either, though still pretty smooth due to a nice nutty, bready malt backbone. Easy drinking -- quite possibly the perfect choice if you're having a hard time deciding what you're in the mood for, strange as that may sound. This beer would probably be quite sessionable if it weren't for the hefty 7.1% ABV.
Great stuff! My favorite so far of everything I've tried from 10 Barrel.
