Sour, but a smooth kind of sour. A little bit of rye spice, but not a ton... mostly just tart sourness. Meh.

I bet you had a bad bottle. They had problems with their caps early on. That looks like one of the old washers (rubber not silicon). Give this beer another try. It's no Terrapin though.

Okay, Teyo... after trying this again at your place, I concur; it was definitely a bad bottle. 4 stars, maybe? I liked how "soft" and frothy it tasted.
