The latest in Deschutes' Bond Street series of seasonal 22oz bombers. I gotta say, I LOVE this label artwork. It looks as fresh to me as the beer in the glass tastes. Nice job.
Here's the description from the
Deschutes website:
This noble, fresh hop version of our classic American pale ale arose from a single plot of heirloom Cascade hops. Revived by our brewers from the original rootstock developed at Oregon State University, grown by Goshie Farms in Oregon, this very limited release is just for you.
Pours dark orange and somewhat cloudy, with a bit of frothy head. Smells strongly of citrus and pine. Goddamn, I love fresh hop beers!
Light body -- it's a pale, remember, not an IPA. Taste is mostly of Cascade hops, with their nice grassy, sticky, piney bitterness. A light bready malt rounds out the flavor. It's like a Mirror Pond, but with FRESH hops! Huh.
Overall, this beer was a very nice, fresh, clean Cascade-based pale. Very drinkable, moreso even than it's 12oz cousin. If anything, I could've maybe gone for an even stronger hops presence, but I'm not complaining at all. Great beer! Grab it if you see it.
